Prints Charming arrives at Liberty
Prints Charming will be showcasing a vibrant array of fabric designs exclusive to Liberty by six established British artists including Turner Prize winner Grayson Perry, Paul Morrison, Mike McInnerney, Michael Angove, Anj Smith and Simon Hart. Not only will they be available to buy by the metre they will be used for lampshades, notebooks, silk scarves, bags and much more.
The Liberty entrance at the north of Carnaby has been transformed by using the 'Micro-Betsy' print to adorn the wall, making it the bst way to clebrate Summer and the arrival of Prints Charming ot the fourth floor.
Liberty, always ahead with design, will exhibit artists who will use the prints and patters to create stunning window and interior displays with pieces available to buy. Furniture will be wrapped in fabric from collective Squint, as well as a Baroque chandelier displayed in the window. Meg Matthews has toughened up the whimsical micro-floral designs with skulls and snakeskin alongside upholstered vintage furniture, to tease with but a few goings on.
A retrospective side to Prints Charming will show archive imagery of designers Cacharel, Junya Watanabe, NIKE, Kate Moss for Topshop, Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony and A.P.C laying out like a tapestry of how they have been used with the ever so apparent Liberty spirit running through.
Look out for the new exterior from 8th August.
