Wish You Were Here throws the best Block Party outside of New York
On Sunday 18th October from 12 noon, Carnaby's Newburgh Quarter will host the best New York Block Party this side of the Atlantic with catwalk shows, live music and the tasty NYC Food Market as part of the Wish You Were Here fashion swap.
At 2.30pm, 3.30pm and 4.30pm, check out the catwalk shows showcasing the latest looks from the Lower East Side styled exclusively by Stephanie Fraser, formerly a top stylist at NYLON and SNAP! Magazine. Models will strut down the cobbles of Newburgh Street allowing London fashionistas a taste of the New York fashion scene. Boutique hair salon Bob Soho will be styling the hair for the event. And you can vote for your favourite look and win the outfit!
You can then shop for the looks at the two Wish You Were Here boutiques at 8 Newburgh Street and 3 Lowndes Court. Get the full look by booking a session at Bob Soho at 36 Marshall Street.
Take a bite of the the Big Apple at the NYC Food Market that will take residence in the Newburgh Quarter offering BBQ ribs, Sloppy Joe's, Salt Beef sandwiches, hog roast, cotton candy and popcorn, or head over to The White Horse to try the exclusive 'White Yorker' burger with all the trimmings.
Live music will be at 8 Newburgh Street with DJ's including Patchwork Pirate and D.R.E.W spinning the decks in the window.
Fancy getting a New York style taxi to the Newburgh Quarter to arrive in style? Be sure to look out for the Wish You Were Here taxi, a New York twist on the classic London black cab. If you spot it, quote 'Newburgh' to the driver and he shall whisk you from wherever you are to the party in the Newburgh Quarter.
