Throughout Carnaby and the West End, Mangosteen Thai Restaurant is known for quality food at very un-West End prices, and has enjoyed very favourable reviews in internet restaurant guides.
A charming venue in which to enjoy a taste of Thailand in a friendly, informal atmosphere, it has a fanatical following - not only amongst Thais, but also Westerners who have visited the country and really appreciate the authenticity of the food. (Even their ex-Prime Minister and his family have been spotted dining there!).
The restaurant is open from noon to 10.30pm Monday to Saturday, and noon to 10pm Sunday, with an extensive menu offering traditional Thai dishes alongside more contemporary variations.
Local lunch-breakers take advantage of the One-Plate lunch menu served between 12 and 3pm, which offers a range of vegetarian, meat and seafood dishes served with rice, most of them costing around a fiver.
A constantly-changing specials menu that includes mouthwatering dishes such the amazing Suki-Yaki Steamboat and their signature Fried Leg of Pork have spawned many imitations amongst their peers.
An endless list of starters, main courses, curries, and noodle dishes, AND they’re open all day, so there’s always a convenient time to visit. What are we waiting for? Let's eat!
(Prior booking is highly recommended at Mangosteen to guarantee a table, take-aways also available.)
