Marshmallow Mountain is a vintage ladieswear boutique offering the 'boudoir' experience in a Central London location.

It particularly specializes in vintage shoes and boots, with customers visiting three times weekly to snap up new deliveries in their size.

The store, in Kingly Court, off London's famous Carnarby Street, originated from private salon parties where the founder entertained friends and their guests in her home which she styled as a biba-esque boutique. Amidst cocktails, nibbles, music and laughter, groups of girls returned to the days of the dressing-up box, trying and buying the week's selection of the owner's vintage finds.

Word reached the big shops and Marshmallow Mountain was soon supplying a major fashion retailer with vintage. Returning a year ago to its independent roots, the Kingly Court shop was opened

Clothing and accessories in the shop are all cherry-picked and in pristine condition, the owner explains:

" I wanted to create an exciting collection of quality vintage items that were wearable, stylish yet still affordable and faithful to the eclectic vintage aesthetic…………at marshmallow you don't have to trawl through loads of crap to find a winning purchase, we've done that for you, before any purchase is selected for the shop, I ask myself 'which one of the stylish people I know and see around would love that item ?"

The clothes, jewellery, bags and the renowned collection of shoes and boots (all sizes) are sourced from the UK, Europe and the USA. New stock arrives at least three times a week with promotions on seasonal items. Expect to see a selection of vintage bikini tops from the end of May. Great for flashing under a see-through or wide necked top.
