Pret have been obsessed with selling good natural food since our first year back in 1986. We built a kitchen in the basement of our first shop in Victoria and went to the food markets at dawn. We still have fresh ingredients delivered every morning to every Pret. We still make our sandwiches, wraps and baguettes in each shop throughout the day.

Pret is a private company. We are passionate about food, our staff, and our customers. If there is a secret to our success so far, it's probably our determination to put quality ahead of profit. Quality, not just of our food, but in every aspect of what we do.

We go to great lengths to ensure that the food we sell is fresh, healthy and of the highest quality. All our sandwiches are handmade, one by one, in each shop's kitchen throughout the day. We do not operate a central production factory, nor do we employ mass production techniques.

We don't mind the fact that natural food goes off quickly. We don't want to extend the shelf life of our food. We don't like sell-by dates. At the end of each day, we offer all our unsold sandwiches to charity to help feed the homeless.

We use only natural ingredients. We avoid obscure chemicals, additives and preservatives commonly found in fast food .
