During the current climate, support for the community and NHS is of the utmost importance, and the shops and restaurants of Carnaby are amongst those doing their part to help key workers and the most vulnerable.
A new campaign #FeedNHS has recently been launched by LEON in partnership with Damian Lewis, Helen McCrory and Matt Lucas to raise vital funds to provide food directly to NHS teams. Working alongside Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and UCLH Healthcare NHS Trust, their goal is to get 6,000 meals a day into London hospitals. Carnaby restaurants Dishoom, Pizza Pilgrims and Rosa’s Thai Cafe have also joined the campaign, which has raised over £1.2 million You can donate via the JustGiving page here.
Scandinavian fashion brand Samsøe Samsøe have collaborated with the Danish Red Cross to help secure medical equipment for healthcare professionals and iconic eyewear brand MOSCOT have pledged over $1.5 million worth of eyeglasses to emergency media professionals. Eyeglasses are available with both non-prescription and prescription (distance or reading) lens options in a pre-selected assortment of MOSCOT frames. Find out more and sumbit your form here.
British heritage label Barbour have announced that their workforce has been tasked with turning out garments to support local NHS Trusts in the fight against COVID-19. The brand have turned their factories into a production line for PPE and are delivering gowns to North East hospitals.

Pastaio is supporting NHS workers by partnering with Fuel the Fight London who are working with restaurants to help cater for local London hospitals. If you want to help you can donate to this great cause here. Later this month Darjeeling Express are also cooking for two hospitals, Kingston and St George’s. This is part of their annual tradition of sending iftar (food to break the fast) for medics in the Islamic month of Ramadan. This year they are sending food as takeaway packs for all 150 staff at Kingston which includes porters and admin staff and not just those fasting.
Indian restaurant Dishoom are doing their to Feed to the Frontline, over the past few weeks a big-hearted (and safely physically distanced) team of Dishoom-wallas has provided well over 10,000 meals to hospitals, community nurses and frontline teams. Dishoom have also been working closely with their friends at Ramadan Tent Project to bring communities together to share in the spirit of Ramadan. Together, supported by the kind donations of Muslim World League, they've supported them in providing over 1,000 hot Iftar meals to homeless and vulnerable people this Ramadan.
Co-founders of Le Bab, Stephen Tozer and Ed Brunet, began the not-for-profit social kitchen, The London Restaurant Co-operative which has now delivered over 9,000 meals to the NHS. The scheme was intended as a high quality, low cost, ready meal delivery service, designed to offer some extra financial relief to chefs and waiters who’d lost their jobs due to the Coronavirus crisis, and also as means of providing free meals for NHS workers and the homeless. To date, the scheme has delivered over 200 meals a day to NHS staff across London.
Vintage Ralph Lauren store RRL has donated $10 Million to help the World Health Organisation and international cancer institutions that are caring for people with cancer who are especially vulnerable at this time.

Carnaby is so humbled by the many initiatives that our shops and restaurants have implemented to show their thanks to the NHS and community but it doesn't stop there, Carnaby has decided to join the initiative started by The Hay Loft Devon, to #TreatOurNHS and provide a well deserved rest to a NHS worker in the UK.
