We are proud to announce a collaboration with ocean conservation organisation Project 0 to inspire the restaurant, bar and café community of Carnaby to take action to protect the ocean.
The Blue Turtle is a mark of commitment which lets people know that Carnaby eateries have met criteria that helps to safeguard our planet's life support system, the ocean. The mark has been adopted by restaurants, bars and café’s that are working towards being ocean-friendly and are committed to continuing to improve their practices. Our vision is for Carnaby to become the most ocean-friendly destination in London.
The initiative is in collaboration with Project 0 and advised by an expert committee including ZSL, OneLess, Leon, Veolia, A Plastic Planet and Blue Marine Foundation.
The Blue Turtle mark of commitment gives customers a way to make informed choices. Together with Project 0, we aim to reduce the consumption of single-use plastic and encourage our businesses to adopt sustainable practices to put the brakes on the global climate crisis. Our amazing shops and restaurants will be provided with information on how to source sustainable products, services and suppliers as well as local regulations and hands-on support.
Restaurants have been asked to make this pledge to eliminate avoidable single-use plastics, reduce waste and source only sustainable seafood. Once businesses commit to adopting these practices, the bar, restaurant or café will be bestowed a Blue Turtle that they will display to let people know that they are committed to these practices. We are proud to announce that the establishments that are now on board include: Acai Berry, Ain't Nothin' but the Blues Bar, Antidote, Bread Ahead, Cahoots, Chai by Mira, Crumbs & Doilies, Darjeeling Express, Department of Coffee, Dirty Bones, Dishoom, Disrepute, Farm Girl, INKO NITO, Jakata, Jinjuu, Le Bab, Leon, Mother Mash, Oka, Pastaio, PITTABUN, Pizza Pilgrims, Polpo, Pure, Rosa's Thai Cafe, SACRED Cafe, Señor Ceviche, Shoryu Carnaby, Soho Grind, Stax Diner, Tapas Brindisa, The Court, The Detox Kitchen, The Diner, The Good Egg ,The Life Goddess, The Rum Kitchen, The White Horse, Two Floors, Ugly Dumpling, Urban Tea Rooms, Whyte and Brown and Wright Brothers Soho.

The ocean is Earth’s life support system, taking up 70% of our planet’s surface and giving us every drop of water we drink, and every second breath we take. Today, the ocean is under attack from climate change, overfishing and plastic pollution. It’s time to show it some love. The Blue Turtle is a step towards creating a sustainable future for our planet.
