Be a part of the global movement, use your voice, raise awareness and inspire change with the two-week long Pass on Plastic pop-up store in Carnaby.
Did you catch 'Plasticus' taking over the streets of Carnaby recently? In support of the launch of #PassOnPlastic Carnaby welcomed a giant whale sclupture, made entirely of plastic to highlight the amount of plastic waste dumped in our oceans per second. We were joined by the likes of HRH Princess Eugenie of York, Jaime Winstone, and Jo Wood to name a few.
In celebration of #WorldOceansDay, an exclusive new pop-up called ‘Pass on Plastic’ has launched at 20 Beak Street. From Project 0 and Sky Ocean Rescue, leading ocean conservation organisations, the Pass on Plastic initiative is a creative project aiming to inspire people to eliminate single use plastics and show how everyone can easily change their consumer habits.
Head there for a true ‘ocean experience’ featuring art, music, film, performances, inspiring talks and celebrity guest appearances. Artists including Paul Karslake and Tess Felix are exhibiting ‘rubbish art’ and jewellery designer Ara Vartanian is showcasing his stunning shark rings.
Visit the immersive ocean pop-up experience on June 18 6-7pm where Bernard Fowler, musician and vocals for The Rolling Stones, will be in-store signing his album 'The Bura'. Entry is on a first come first serve basis.
Pass on Plastic have collaborated with some incredibly influential artists and culture makers (including Fearne Cotton, Henry Holland and Pixie Geldof) in order to design a range of organic ‘Salt-T’ T-shirts featuring exclusive prints. You’ll find these T-shirts available to buy, along with a range of unique tote bags, at the pop-up in Carnaby. All proceeds will go towards the cause of protecting the oceans.
The space also features up-cycled surfboards with designs from London street artists (including David Shillinglaw and Lily Mixe), plus many more surprises throughout the weeks.
Be a part of the social movement, the Pass on Plastic pop-up is open from 8-27 June, 10-8pm Monday to Saturday and 12-6pm on Sundays.
