The sheer number of dinner, dessert and drink options on the streets of Carnaby means temptation is always close at hand. That’s why shaking it up and heading for a high-energy workout might seem like a sensible idea.
Luckily, Carnaby is a mecca for high-end, classic and boutique fitness spaces; ideal for working off croissant number three of the week. Put in a few shifts and once you’ve caught the workout bug, you’ll realise these places are so awesome, the problem will be trying to tear yourself away. So whether you are into the relaxing zen of yoga or the sweaty endorphin rush of HIIT, there is a place to suit all bods on Carnaby.
The flagship Sweaty Betty is a mega three-floor retail store, cafe and activity centre all rolled into one. Head to one of their heart-pumping basement classes and refuel with a post-workout buddha bowl at Farm Girl Cafe.
Don’t want to HIIT it hard? Slow down and unwind with a membership to TriYoga. They offer a varied selection of practices including Ashtanga and Hatha (along with pilates), in a calm and relaxing environment. Namaste.
Love yoga but it’s just not reaching that body shaping goal you were aiming for? Tone it up at Heartcore with their signature Dynamic Pilates method. This is pilates with a purpose.
Marshall Leisure Centre
A grade II listed building, Marshall Leisure Centre was originally built in 1931 and houses a beaut art deco marble-tiled swimming pool. Couple that with a 95 station gym, exercise studio, hot yoga studio and treatment rooms and there really is no need to go elsewhere.
