You tweeted – Amanda answered. We asked the @CarnabyLondon followers to tweet us their burning beauty questions and have them answered by beauty guru and Urban Decay MUA Amanda Hendrick for our brand new Carnaby Magazine, available to pick up in Carnaby now.
Thanks to everyone who sent in their questions! Here’s the full Q&A:
@yasminec9 asked “Hi Amanda, what skincare products do you use? Your skin is amazing.”
Amanda: Thank you! I use a celestial moisturiser after cleansing, and I soak my face in pure rosehip oil at night before bed.
@charlottelizbth asked “I always struggle with doing the perfect winged eyeliner. Would you have tips on the best product/technique?”
Amanda: I make a dot where I want the wing to end, and then I just join it up and fill it in. Urban Decay’s Perversion Pen Liner is one of my favourites.
@The_Jago asked “What’s best to use – BB cream or foundation?”
Amanda: I prefer a BB cream as it's not as heavy on the face and then I use a thicker concealer under the eyes and where ever else needs a little more coverage.
@TlreesTracy asked “Any tips for using the same colour palette for day and night if you’re on a budget?”
Amanda: I love to add Urban Decay’s Glitter Liners or Liquid Moondusts to take my daytime look into nighttime.
@Sophielily93 asked “What’s the best way to apply foundation for dry skin?”
Amanda: I always moisturise my face and use a hydrating primer before applying and then I like to use a beauty blender or urban decays optical blurring brush for a streak free finish.
@noteapleeeease asked “How do I bring out brown eyes with slightly hooded lids?”
Amanda: Always bring the shadow up above your natural eye crease so that it shows when you open your eyes. I like to use greens, purples, and gold coloured shadows to make brown eyes stand out.
@ezziemakeup asked “What eyeshadow colours would you recommend for this season?”
Amanda: I never like to follow seasonal trends just wear whatever you're feeling at the time. There should be no rules!
@nicelittlestar asked “What colours can I use to create a smoky eye look, other than black?”
Amanda: You can create any colour of smokey eye. I love a brown, green or purple smoke! Urban Decay have the Smokey Palette specifically for creating a deep smokey eye.
@ferrerorocker asked “What one item of makeup should you spend the most money on?”
Amanda: Definitely foundation. I feel it's important to find the perfect flawless finish.
