Soho has come a long way from its origins as a hunting ground. Waves of immigrants from Europe turned the area into a cosmopolitan melting pot. This pub dates from the 1930s.
The art deco exterior is typical of the period. The ironwork on the balcony depicts prancing horse. That image was the inspiration behind our imaginative pub sign.
Food, drink, history and eccentricity since 1873.
Every Nicholson’s alehouse is unique. Each has a story to tell – of the artisans who built it and of the heroes, villains and eccentrics who made it their home. Our pubs are part of a great British tradition of alehouse hospitality. They’re grand yet homely, exactly as our founder, William Nicholson, intended.
Enjoy a refreshing drink from The White Horse’s vast range of guest ales, bottles beers, Nicholson’s favourites and wines, on the cobbles of Newburgh Street.
