This light and airy, warehouse-style London restaurant specializes in free-range chicken. Advocates of strength in simplicity, Whyte & Brown’s philosophy is to make the most of selected produce from trusted suppliers.
The humble chicken is the ‘hero’ ingredient on the Whyte & Brown menu. Starters include curried wings with fenugreek & coriander; fried chicken pops with seaweed mayo; and black pepper mac & cheese served with crispy chicken skin. For vegetarians there’s a spiced pumpkin soup with crispy cavolo nero & pumpkin seeds served with sourdough bread.
Main dishes include the ever-popular chicken (or halloumi) souvlaki with white bean hummus, black olive tapenade, tahini, Greek-style salad, feta, tzatziki & pitta; a classic half roast chicken with banana shallots & persillade; chicken schnitzel with kale salad, gherkin & wholegrain mustard; and grilled chicken breast with green lentils, chorizo & parsley. For burger lovers, they have got the roast chicken crispy burger with gravy mayo, crispy chicken skin & grilled tomato relish; a fried chicken reuben with sauerkraut & Swiss cheese; and our vegetarian butter bean falafel burger with tahini, hummus, slaw & relish.
To finish, there’s a white chocolate peanut blondie with salted caramel & peanut ice cream; a dark chocolate tart served with vanilla ice cream; and a set vanilla cheesecake with pear sorbet.
An extensive wine list, great craft beers, and classic cocktails can also be enjoyed in the quirky restaurant and bar interior, where giant exposed bulbs hang from industrial metal hooks over the bar and chunky wooden tables and white-washed factory pipes fill the dining space. There’s also great alfresco dining available out in the courtyard all year round.
Open all day, even the breakfast menu champians the chicken, with new dishes including fried eggs, hash browns & chicken gravy; buttermilk chicken breast, French toast & maple syrup; plus classics such as avocado on toast with poached eggs & smoked chilli; and a full English.
Just off Regent Street and London’s iconic Carnaby Street, Whyte & Brown is a 5-minute walk from Oxford Circus and Piccadilly Circus Tube stations.
